The Stamping Chef

Hello friends!!

Today I'm just popping in to share a digi site that I've had the pleasure of being introduced to over the last week called "The Stamping Chef".

She's got some sassy and very voluptuous images on her blog, which I freakin' LOVE but I also love the variety.  There's something for very one!

Anyway, I thought I'd challenge myself to color up this one called "Demented Beauty".  I played with 3 other images for practice...well, I didn't complete all of them but just pieces.  I still can't just grab one image and have it be my masterpiece.  One day!!!

CUTE OR WHAT?!  You just have to check these sweeties out.

Don't forget about my BLOG CANDY I'm giving away:

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Wee Florist

WELCOME to Kit and Clowder's monthly challenge and this month we are being sponsored by  Whimsy Stamps

The color BLUE is this month's challenge!

I chose to use an image called "Wee Florist" by Sylvia Zet, sold on the Whimsy Stamps online store.  Isn't she a cutie?  Some of my pieces I bought from Live and Love Crafts such as my Maja Design papers (Vintage Spring Basics), the Melissa Frances resin heart corner piece, my clock paper clip, the gorgeous lace and rose lace, the Wild Orchid Craft flowers and my "Cute" TH bulb.

The leaves are chipboard from Southern Ridge Trading Company, a new online chipboard company in Canada.  With our dollar on the rise, it's nice to have the choice to stay local.  Woo hoo!!  I covered the leaves with Tim Holtz crackle paint.  Love how they turned out!!

This doily border is also from Southern Ridge Trading Company.  This time I covered the chipboard with white TH distress paint and then some white frantage.

Voila!  My colored image!  This is my "before" image I used to gauge how I do while taking Alyce's (Kit and Clowder) classes because some time down the road I will do an "after".  Should be interesting!!  Also, don't you just wish when you took a picture that it was as vibrant in the photo as in real life?  That annoys me!!  Maybe I need a different program....or a new house with my own photo booth!!  hee hee

SO!!  For this month of course there is a prize to be had and Whimsy Stamps is so kindly offering:

They have all kinds of cool stuff to spend your money on!  Papers, stamps, dies oh my!!  The great thing about the challenge is just because we are sponsored by Whimsy, doesn't mean you have to use an image to qualify, although they do have some cute digi's.  It can be any image so whatever you are creating this month, stop by and pop it onto Kit and Clowder!!  Don't forget to add you BLUE to it though!

PS - Don't forget about my blog candy HERE!  I'm giving away one of Alyce's coloring class!!

Live and Love Crafts

I'm soooooo very sad to say this is my last card for Live and Love Crafts.  Unfortunately, due to some family circumstances, my spare time is needed elsewhere but that's ok.  It's for a very good reason.  This week we were inspired by BIRDS, so I was relieved to find a MF resin piece still in my stash. Woo hoo!  I used Pion's "A Day In May" paper collection and even cut out the tiny butterflies from it as well.  So cute!

The chipboard is from Southern Ridge Trading Company.  I covered it with a Tim Holtz paint dauber, rock candy and some gold Shimmer Spritz.

Isn't this "Queen of Sheba" lace so gorgeous?!!  It just deserves such a big spot on a card and I hate to cover it so I tried to be careful.  LOL!  The big flower is from Prima and the Wild Orchid ones I bought from LLC.  OH and I have to point out these gorgeous metal corners - aren't they pretty?!

There you have it!  I want to thank Sandra and the girls at LLC for everything.   They have been such a pleasure to work with and one of my most favorite teams!  Thank you for introducing me to the wonderful world of vintage.  I was surprised and happy to find that I had it in me.

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Precious Post

HAPPY FRIDAY!!  This week at Live and Love Crafts we were inspired by the word "PRECIOUS"!  That word could be used for inspiring so many different cards but I knew exactly which papers to head to.  Off I went to Pion's "Sweet Baby" collection, including the images and made not just 1 but 2 cards.  I'm sure it was just as easy as making one!!  I'm gonna try this more often!  LOL!  The papers have some nice tags, which I topped off with a shabby bow.
I also covered the bottom layer with some cheesecloth.  It seems like using that adds more of a vintage feeling to anything.  I even added some very pretty tulle and laces on each card.
The big flower is from my stash of Prima and all my Wild Orchid Craft flowers are from LLC.  Oh and same with those gorgeous rolled roses.  If ever I was challenged to build a card without flowers I'm not so sure I could do it.  LOL!!  Oh WAIT!  Yes I could!  A masculine card - hee hee - but it would never look this pretty.  ha ha ha!!
I added a strip of the Pion baby paper (a tape measure) to a spool, then some pop dots and distressed the edges for both of these cards.  These butterflies are new to the LLC store and I've discovered that you can bend them for a little dimension so I lifted the wings and popped some lace behind some buttons.

Well I hope you've enjoyed my cards for the day! Have a great weekend!  I know I will as I'm heading off to a crop with some friends.  YAY to crafty time!  I hope you get some too!
